Inspiration drawn from the "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" - a famous woodblock print by Japanese artist Hokusai (1832).  His unique style in representing a great wave breaking over boats is much like an analogy of Deepsurface breaking into the streetwear industry.  Using the same stylistic influences of "The Great Wave", the vivid blue wave break is intergrated into a Japanese Family Crest and symbolizes the three co-founders of "Deepsurface".

Deepsurface is also translated into katakana below the crest.
