What a trip, woke up today to a crimson sunrise of dust that blanketed our city.
Today, even though it looked like the end of the world was more like a reality check. Coincidently the adverse weather we experienced on the east coast of Australia today preceded the United Nations Climate Summit held overnight in New York. Prime Minister K Rudd said the world needed a “grand bargain” between the rapidly-growing developing nations and the already developed nations to get their shit together to reduce carbon emissions because it is clearly effecting the weather.
This morning also uprooted lyrics from a crew i used to listen to back in the day that pretty much sums up what in tryin to say… if the nations of the world can get together like Voltron i reckon we ‘got this!’… if ya know what i’m sayin…
“Red dawn, war pawns, raps nasty like porn / Pass on, transform, arm leg leg arm / Supreme head, infra-red, we form like Voltron / We form like Voltron.” - Killarmy

The Saint has been keeping very busy lately even featuring in an upcoming issue of 3D World magazine…. Stayed tuned for more on Dj The Saint in our next spotlight feature coming soon.

As we continue to ride off the Michael Jordan’s full circleness, being inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame last week, we decided to give you more of what you need. Check out the new prints from artist Shepard Fairey which are now available for purchase here. Dopeness!
Not a lot I can really say about Michael Jordan’s Hall of Fame speech other than I found it awesome and learnt so much more about Jordan than I’ve ever known… Must watch for all you Jordan fans, and I know there’s a lot of you!

16/09/09 - R.I.P. Bodhizafa
When I was kid I used to believe that actors in movies were the actual characters they played no matter how much my parents would try and convince me that they were these things called actors. Like when Lou Diamond Philllips played Ritchie Valens in La Bamba, I honestly thought he was Ritchie Valens, so when I later saw him presenting an award at the MTV awards I told my folks that Ritchie Valens came back to life or he must have survived that plane crash.
With the loss of Patrick Swayze to many he will forever be remembered as Dirty Dancing instructor Johnny Castle or Sam Wheat from Ghost, but to me he will always live on as thrill-seeking wave rider Bodhi from Point Break.

12/09/09 - Acclaim Issue 17
Following up on Thursday’s party at Laced, Acclaim Magazine and San Francisco label Upper Playground together with Freshin went back to back to launch issue 17 here in Sydney. With the customary mad beats and booze to set the party right, the turnout saw the party bleedin out of the building into the park, just like we used to do it back in the day. Big shout out to Danny from Acclaim, Ace from Freshin and Paul from Well Dressed Vandals. Peep out the new issue available at all good newsagents, boutiques and stores.
Spewin we rocked up late and didn’t even get a single drop of the 20 cases of beer, but hey, a tallie in a brown papperbag and it’s all gravy.
Danny (Acclaim) and some random derelict in a DS earth tee.

07/09/09 - Jordan - The Best There Ever Was
This friday the greatest player to play the game of basketball, Michael Jordan will be inducted to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
Jordan’s life-time achievements of 6 championship rings, 2 gold medals, countless records, infinite global recognition and on-going sneaker domination, makes him and his logo the most inspiring and influential household symbol behind the cross. It’s time to pay tribute to his Airness and break out those Air Jordans on ice, and rock em’ for our forefather of sole, Michael Jefferey Jordan… The Best There Ever Was.
Tribute poster done by influential street artist Shepard Fairey, the man behind Obey and the Obama campaign.
Nike have also paid homage to MJ by releasing the Air Jordan Hall of Fame Pack. The pack will feature Air Jordan 1 Retros, 2009’s and Six Rings. Each pair is of black patent leather with hints of red and white, laced with Jordan’s stats commemorating his achievements. Now that’s a lot of stats.
Everyone who has ever played basketball should know of, or at least heard of Jordan and if you haven’t then you’re a CRACK HEAD!… Check out the history of flight. Amen.
