29/03/09 - May’s Lane Street Art Retrospective

The May’s Lane project is a four year retrospective on street art located in St Peters, a suburb in Sydney’s inner west. This collection of art pieces is currently on exhibit until the 6th of April at the Carriageworks, 245 Wilson Street Eveleigh, Sydney City. The Caretaker Curator of this little lane of big visuals is Tugi Balog, who has welcomed legendary graff artists from Sydney and around the world to do their thing on his canvas of walls. DS is heading to the old train yard on the weekend so if you miss it you’ll catch it on our blog.

23/03/09 - Footprints Exhibition MCA

On Sunday we made our way over to the Museum of Contemporary Art to see Anna’s “I Will” project in full effect. There was a collection of very interesting pieces on display (all environmentally themed). Anna not only had her work on display but it was a working contribution from the crowd as well, as they could participate in adding their message and photo to the overall project.

Careful you don’t step on the flowers, which were laid out across the WHOLE exhibtion floor. It was all related to the whole footprints theme. And the ones who did not possess Ninja skills left there footprint alright.

I Will… is a project aimed at encouraging individuals to make a positive environmental impact.

Chapel’s “I Will” contribution…

And here is the One who made the “I Will” project possible.

This flower escaped footprint free…

Here’s a couple of other pieces that caught my eye.

A little snapshot of the view from the top of the MCA building.

For those who missed Footprints at MCA, the exhibition will continue over at Blank Space - 374 Crown Street Surry Hills from March 26th - April 1st.
